Editorial standards
Custom Pools is a specialist journal, not a builder's brochure and not a legal office. These rules apply to staff essays and to work accepted through write for us.
Sourcing
Prices, standards and climate claims should be dated and localised. Prefer primary documents: AS 1926 for barriers, the National Construction Code, state pool-safety laws, manufacturer data sheets, and bureau climate normals. If a figure is a typical range rather than a quote, say so.
Corrections
Substantive errors are corrected in the article and noted with a date. Cosmetic typos are fixed quietly. Send evidence through the contact form.
Conflicts and money
Writers must declare if they sell the product or service they are describing. Paid placements and guest-post backlinks carry rel="sponsored". We do not accept payment to alter a conclusion after editing has begun.
Safety
Pool fencing, supervision and water quality are life-safety subjects. We do not publish workarounds that weaken a barrier or chemistry advice that could poison a bather. When in doubt we tell the reader to speak to a certifier or a water technician.
Voice
Australian English. Specific gardens, not generic “outdoor living spaces”. Respect for trades. No contempt for suburban blocks — most of the country's custom pools sit on them. For the public photographs we use, see image credits.
